I am currently finishing the comparison of genetic structure, genetic diversity, and clonality in three species of Asclepias, or milkweed, sampled from U.I.C.'s James Woodworth remnant prairie, natural restored prairie, and commercial seed begun in my undergraduate career.
FUTURE RESEARCH
For my M.S. thesis, I am planning to study the effects of hacking and outbreeding performed in the Midwest during the late 1900's for conservation purposes on the adaptability of the five peregrine falcon subspecies introduced. Additionally, I intend to research the genetic variability and structure of non-migratory peregrine falcon populations in order to build upon previous research performed on migratory populations and provide needed information on this now highly urbanized and cosmopolitan species.
